Summary
This study tested whether a medicine called dexmedetomidine (Precedex) can help control pain in adults with three or more broken ribs. The goal was to lower pain scores and reduce the need for strong opioid painkillers. 41 ICU patients took part, and researchers tracked their pain and morphine use for 48 hours.
