New steroid shot aims to stop post-surgery sickness in its tracks

Summary
This study tests whether a long-acting steroid called dexamethasone palmitate can better prevent nausea and vomiting after minimally invasive surgery compared to standard care. About 588 adults aged 18–65 having laparoscopic or thoracoscopic surgery will receive the drug before their operation. The goal is to see if this newer version reduces sickness more effectively and with fewer side effects.
