Summary

This study tested whether placing a throat pack soaked in the steroid dexamethasone could reduce sore throat after septoplasty (nasal surgery). Sixty-five adults were enrolled and received either a dexamethasone-soaked pack or a plain saline pack during surgery. The goal was to see if the medicated pack lowered pain scores in the first 24 hours after surgery.
