Summary
This study tested if adding a common steroid (dexamethasone) to a standard pain-blocking injection could better control pain after back surgery. In 36 patients, researchers compared the steroid add-on against the standard injection alone. They measured pain levels, need for strong painkillers, and a marker of inflammation for 24 hours after surgery.
