First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested a type of brain stimulation called theta burst stimulation (TBS) for people with major depression. 238 adults who had not gotten enough help from standard treatments received either real TBS or a fake version (sham) for 6 weeks. The goal was to see if TBS could reduce depression symptoms more than the sham treatment.
