First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looks at whether training family doctors to safely reduce unnecessary medications can improve prescribing for older adults who take five or more drugs. About 200 patients aged 65 and older living at home are taking part. Doctors in the training group learn to use special tools to identify and stop potentially harmful medicines, while others continue usual care. The goal is to see if this education leads to safer, fewer prescriptions.
