New denture bar material may protect jaw bone better than metal
NCT ID NCT07323628
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested two types of bars (PEEK and metal) that connect a lower denture to two dental implants in people who have lost all their lower teeth. The goal was to see which material improves denture comfort and reduces bone loss around the implants. Twenty adults received either a PEEK or metal bar and were followed for 12 months. Results showed both bars worked well, but PEEK bars led to less bone loss and slightly higher patient satisfaction.
