Ultrasound peers into healing gums after tooth implant surgery

NCT ID NCT05330702

Summary

This study aimed to understand how bone and gum tissue heal in the first few months after a dental implant is placed immediately following a tooth extraction. Researchers used a special dental ultrasound to watch the healing process in real time. They compared healing when using two different types of soft tissue grafts against having no graft at all.
