Dissolving stent could spare kidney stone patients a second procedure

NCT ID NCT04565795

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests a temporary ureteral stent that naturally dissolves over time, so it doesn't need to be removed in a second procedure. About 87 adults who had uncomplicated kidney stone surgery will receive the stent. The goal is to see if it safely drains urine and breaks down within 90 days.
