First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study gathers opinions from patients, families, and doctors about using advanced brain scans and EEG to detect consciousness in people who appear unresponsive after severe brain injury. The goal is not to treat, but to understand what matters ethically when using these technologies. About 70 participants will complete surveys and interviews to shape future guidelines.
