New gel could speed healing of diabetic foot wounds

NCT ID NCT07206862

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a gel called DEBRICHEM to standard wound care helps heal chronic diabetic foot ulcers faster. The gel is designed to remove biofilm, a slimy layer that can prevent healing. About 242 adults with foot ulcers that haven't improved for at least 4 weeks will be randomly assigned to get standard care plus one application of the gel, or standard care alone. The main goal is to see if more wounds are fully healed after 20 weeks with the gel.
