Could some AML patients safely stop chemo? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT06557421

First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at whether people with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who are already responding well to a combination of two drugs (venetoclax and azacitidine) can safely stop taking them. About 50 adults who have been on this treatment for a year and are in remission will stop their medication and be closely monitored. The goal is to see if stopping treatment affects how long they stay cancer-free, while also tracking any side effects.
