Could some breast cancer patients skip radiation?

NCT ID NCT00165256

Summary

This study is testing whether surgery alone is enough treatment for certain early-stage breast cancers called DCIS. Researchers want to see if carefully selected patients with small, low-grade tumors can safely avoid radiation therapy after their surgery. The study follows 158 participants for several years to check if the cancer returns.
