Power nap for athletes: does it beat mental fatigue?
NCT ID NCT07580131
First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a 30-minute daytime nap can help mentally tired endurance athletes feel and perform better. Eleven male amateur athletes completed two sessions: one where they did a mentally demanding task before napping, and one where they just napped. Researchers measured sleepiness, mental fatigue, and thinking speed before and after the nap to see if it helped recovery.
