First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested whether a low dose of dasatinib, a drug used for leukemia, is safe and can reduce inflammation and the amount of hidden HIV in people already on effective HIV treatment. Sixty adults with well-controlled HIV took either dasatinib or a placebo daily for 24 weeks while staying on their regular HIV medications. The goal was to see if dasatinib could help control the virus and reduce immune system activation without causing serious side effects.
