First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether taking two targeted drugs (dabrafenib and trametinib) before and after surgery helps people with stage III melanoma that has a BRAF gene mutation. The drugs shrink tumors before surgery, making them easier to remove, and kill leftover cancer cells afterward. 58 adults with stage IIIB or IIIC melanoma took part. The main goal was to see if the treatment prevents the cancer from coming back.
