Summary

This study tested whether adding D-PLEX to standard care can prevent wound infections after colon surgery. About 202 people having elective colon surgery took part. Half got D-PLEX plus standard care, the other half got standard care alone. The main goal was to see if D-PLEX reduced infection and death rates within 30 days after surgery.
