Sugar pill for bladder bugs? trial tests natural UTI prevention

NCT ID NCT06940622

Summary

This study is testing whether a daily supplement called D-mannose can help prevent recurring urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women after menopause. Researchers will compare D-mannose to a placebo (inactive pill) in 90 women with a history of frequent UTIs over a 12-month period. The main goal is to see if taking D-mannose daily reduces the number of UTI episodes and the need for antibiotics.
