First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring a substance called D-lactate in spinal fluid can help doctors more accurately diagnose meningitis in patients who have a tube draining fluid from the brain. About 185 adults with a suspected infection will have their spinal fluid tested. The goal is to see if this new test works better than current methods.
