Summary
This study tested a gel called Cystistat, which is placed directly into the bladder to replace a protective layer that is damaged in people with interstitial cystitis (also called bladder pain syndrome). The study included 74 women who had bladder pain for at least 6 months. Researchers measured how much their symptoms improved using patient ratings and a symptom questionnaire.
