New MRI technique tracks lung damage in cystic fibrosis patients

NCT ID NCT06057714

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at how well the lungs work in adults with cystic fibrosis (CF) using a special MRI that uses an inhaled gas. Over one year, 30 participants will have 3 to 5 visits to compare MRI images with standard breathing tests. The goal is to see if MRI can better detect changes in lung function, especially during flare-ups. There are no direct benefits for participants, but the results may help improve future CF care.
