New hope for down syndrome vision loss: Eye-Strengthening light therapy in trials

Summary
This study tests an experimental treatment called corneal crosslinking (CXL) for people with Down syndrome who have a condition that makes the front of the eye thin and misshapen, causing blurry vision. The treatment uses vitamin B2 eye drops and ultraviolet light to strengthen the cornea and stop vision from getting worse. About 225 participants aged 8 and older will receive CXL and be followed for 6 months to see if it slows disease progression.
