Turmeric compound tested to stop prostate cancer growth

NCT ID NCT03769766

First seen Jun 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether curcumin, a natural compound found in turmeric, can slow or stop the progression of low-risk prostate cancer in men who are not receiving immediate treatment. About 291 men with early-stage prostate cancer will take either curcumin or a placebo daily for two years. The goal is to see if curcumin reduces the number of men whose cancer worsens or requires more aggressive treatment.
