New CT-Guided screw technique may spare patients a second back surgery
NCT ID NCT07443267
First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tested a minimally invasive procedure called CT-guided trans-facet screw fixation to treat spinal instability that can happen after back surgery. In 24 patients, doctors used CT scans to guide small screws into the spine under local anesthesia, aiming to reduce pain and improve daily activities without the need for another major surgery. The results help show whether this gentler approach is a good alternative to traditional open surgery.
