New hearing aid boosts speech in noise for cochlear implant users

NCT ID NCT04794179

First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a device called Naida Link CROS, which sends sound from the non-hearing ear to the cochlear implant, helps elderly people with one cochlear implant understand speech better in noisy situations. Sixteen participants tested the device, and researchers also checked if it improved quality of life for them and their frequent communication partners. The study was completed, but due to COVID-19, only the initial hearing test was done.
