New combo tackles tough blood cancers in early trial

NCT ID NCT03672539

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests a combination of two chemotherapy drugs (CPX-351 and gemtuzumab ozogamicin) in about 50 adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that has returned or not responded to treatment, or with high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). The goal is to see if the combination is safe and helps shrink or control the cancer. This is a phase 2 trial, meaning it is still in early testing for effectiveness.
