Balloon in the aorta may boost CPR success in cardiac arrest

NCT ID NCT07434726

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether placing a balloon in the main artery (aorta) during CPR, along with standard life support, helps restart the heart more often than standard CPR alone. About 98 adults having a cardiac arrest in the hospital will take part. The main goal is to see if the heart beats on its own for at least 20 minutes.
