Scientists hunt for blood test to pinpoint true early puberty

NCT ID NCT07359092

Summary

This study aimed to see if measuring two specific proteins in the blood could help doctors better diagnose a condition called central precocious puberty (true early puberty). Researchers compared 143 girls under age 8 who had either this condition, a milder form of early breast development, or were healthy. They took blood samples to check levels of the proteins spexin and phoenixin-20 to see if they differed between the groups.
