Breathing breakthrough: extended CPAP could save premature babies from lung damage

NCT ID NCT07417111

Summary

This study aims to see if keeping premature babies on CPAP breathing support longer reduces their risk of developing serious lung disease or dying. It will compare babies who continue CPAP until 34 weeks or for at least 2 extra weeks against babies switched to a simpler nasal cannula earlier. The trial will enroll 860 extremely premature infants born before 29 weeks.
