Can couples counseling stop HIV in babies and lift Moms' depression?
NCT ID NCT06659315
Summary
This study is testing a new counseling program for couples in Malawi where the pregnant woman has HIV and depression. The program teaches couples problem-solving and communication skills to help manage depression, food insecurity, and the woman's HIV treatment. The goal is to see if this couple-based support helps women stick to their medication and breastfeeding plans, which prevents passing HIV to their baby, while also improving their mental health.
