Helsinki study tests if online or In-Person therapy boosts relationship happiness

NCT ID NCT07604740

First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether different types of relationship support—like online self-help, an online course, short in-person therapy, or standard couple therapy—can help couples feel more satisfied and less stressed. About 200 couples from Helsinki who are already waiting for relationship counseling will be randomly assigned to one of these options or a waitlist. They will fill out surveys about their relationship and well-being before, after, and 4 months later to see what works best.
