Cheaper, less painful bone graft for cleft patients?

NCT ID NCT04234971

First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests if a synthetic bone material (BMP/DBM) is more cost-effective and less painful than the standard method of using the patient's own hip bone for grafting. About 40 people with cleft lip and palate will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods. The goal is to see which approach provides better healing, lower costs, and less pain.
