Not a trial. This treatment can be requested outside a study, case by case, for people who qualify.
Expanded access (paused)
Not a trial. The treatment can normally be requested outside a study, but is unavailable right now.
Expanded access (ended)
Not a trial. The treatment could once be requested outside a study, but no longer can.

Summary

This study looked at whether measuring blood flow in the corpus luteum (a temporary gland in the ovary) using Doppler ultrasound can help predict how a pregnancy will progress in the first three months. Researchers studied 120 women with early pregnancies, including some with threatened miscarriage. The goal was to see if this technique could identify pregnancies at risk of complications.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a simple ultrasound test to identify early pregnancies at risk of miscarriage.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed observational study, not a treatment trial. The findings may not apply to all women or lead to a reliable clinical test.
