Nerve damage in the eye may explain stubborn dry eye after transplant

NCT ID NCT04700657

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at why some people who have had a stem cell transplant continue to have severe dry eye and discomfort. Researchers think nerve damage in the cornea (the clear front part of the eye) may be the cause. They will measure corneal sensation in 30 patients with ocular graft-versus-host disease and compare it to healthy people of the same age.
