Could Pre-Treating donor corneas sharpen vision in keratoconus patients?

NCT ID NCT04584125

First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether strengthening donor corneal tissue with a cross-linking procedure before transplant can improve vision and reduce astigmatism in people with keratoconus. About 216 adults aged 18-50 who need a cornea transplant will take part. The goal is to see if this pre-treatment leads to better long-term eyesight compared to standard donor tissue.
