Simple cord trick may cut dangerous bleeding after birth
NCT ID NCT07279545
Summary
This study is testing a simple technique to reduce bleeding after childbirth. After the baby is born, researchers will open a clamp on the mother's end of the umbilical cord to drain some blood from the placenta. They want to see if this helps the placenta deliver faster and reduces the mother's blood loss. The study will involve 80 low-risk pregnant women to compare this method to the standard procedure.
