Scientists search for clues in Babies' first blood
NCT ID NCT06880003
Summary
This study aims to understand the relationship between a protein called preptin and a baby's birth weight. Researchers will compare preptin levels in the umbilical cord blood of 72 newborns who are very small, very large, born to diabetic mothers, or of normal weight. The goal is to gather knowledge, not to provide treatment, by analyzing leftover blood from routine birth tests.
