New oxygen device boosts exercise in COPD rehab

NCT ID NCT07497230

First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested whether a special high-flow oxygen device (A-HFNC) could help people with COPD exercise more during pulmonary rehab. Thirty patients were split into two groups: one did standard rehab, the other used the device during aerobic training. The device was safe and well-tolerated, and patients using it could walk at steeper inclines on the treadmill, suggesting better exercise capacity. These results support a larger study to confirm the benefits.
