What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Copanlisib (a targeted drug) combined with nivolumab and/or ipilimumab (immunotherapy drugs)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a new treatment option for people with advanced solid tumors or lymphoma that has not responded to standard therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early phase 1 trial with only 64 participants, so the combination may prove too toxic or not effective enough to move forward. Side effects from both the targeted drug and immunotherapies can be serious.
