First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tested a new contraceptive vaginal ring that releases two hormones (Nestorone and estradiol) to prevent pregnancy. About 385 healthy women aged 18-35 took part to see how well the ring works and how it affects their monthly bleeding patterns. The ring was used either continuously or in a cycle, and researchers tracked pregnancy rates and any side effects.
