New sensor could replace Finger-Stick ketone tests for diabetes

NCT ID NCT06420518

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tested whether a continuous ketone monitor (CKM) worn on the body can accurately measure ketone levels in people with type 1 diabetes who use insulin pumps. Sixteen adults wore the device for 14 days while following special diets and a short insulin-stop period. The goal was to see if the CKM matches the accuracy of standard finger-stick tests, which could make daily diabetes management easier.
