Summary

This study tests a 6-week compassion-based program for teens (ages 12-18) with emotional disorders like depression or anxiety, along with their parents. The goal is to reduce symptoms, improve family relationships, and lower parenting stress. Half the families start right away, while the other half wait 6 weeks before beginning. Researchers will also use brain scans and heart rate monitors to see how the program affects emotional connection between parent and child.
