Immunotherapy matches standard care in esophageal cancer study
NCT ID NCT07236320
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at 200 patients with advanced esophageal cancer to compare two treatments given before surgery: immunotherapy plus chemotherapy versus chemoradiotherapy. Both treatments led to similar long-term survival rates. The study suggests that immunotherapy may offer extra benefits for some patients who respond well, but more research is needed.
