Smaller chest cut vs. full cut: which is safer for aortic surgery?
NCT ID NCT07386028
Summary
This study compares two ways surgeons can open the chest to repair a bulging section of the body's main artery (an aortic aneurysm). Researchers will enroll 200 patients and randomly assign them to have the repair done through either a traditional full-length chest cut or a newer, smaller J-shaped cut. The goal is to see if the smaller cut leads to fewer complications, less pain, and a faster recovery for patients.
