Brain tease: study reveals how thinking while moving challenges kids with autism
NCT ID NCT07323550
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at how children with autism and typically developing children perform physical tasks like standing or walking while also doing a thinking task. Researchers wanted to see if adding a mental challenge changes how well they move. The study included 90 children aged 5 to 16 and used a Wii Balance Board and a walking app to measure performance. No treatment was given—this was purely an observation to better understand how the brain and body work together in autism.
