First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study compares a new procedure called superselective adrenal artery embolization (SAAE) to the standard medication spironolactone for treating idiopathic hyperaldosteronism, a condition causing high blood pressure due to hormone imbalance. About 172 participants aged 15-60 will be randomly assigned to either the procedure or the medication. The goal is to see if the procedure is safer and more effective at lowering blood pressure over 6 months.
