New heart ablation tool could cut radiation for AFib patients
NCT ID NCT07130773
First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study compares two catheters used to treat atrial fibrillation (AFib) by isolating the pulmonary veins. The newer catheter has built-in navigation that may eliminate the need for a pre-procedure CT scan, reducing radiation exposure and costs. About 58 adults with AFib who are candidates for ablation will participate. The main goal is to see if the new approach shortens fluoroscopy time, a key source of radiation.
