First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at 40 children aged 7 to 13 with a type of underbite called Class III malocclusion. All children first had a special procedure to loosen the jaw joints, then wore a face mask to pull the upper jaw forward. The study compared two ways of attaching the face mask: one using small metal screws in the cheekbone and the other using a traditional tooth-borne device. The goal was to see which method moved the upper jaw more effectively with fewer side effects on the teeth.
