New scanner may reduce need for ultrasound in dense cataract cases

NCT ID NCT07475832

First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looked at 61 adults who had cataract surgery for dense cataracts. Researchers compared two types of eye scanners (ARGOS and IOLMaster 700) to see how well they could measure the eye before surgery. The goal was to find out if the newer scanner could reduce the need for an older, more manual ultrasound method.
