First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tested a new type of lens (EDOF) for cataract surgery against a standard lens. The goal was to see if the new lens improves vision at multiple distances while being safe. 250 adults aged 45 and older with cataracts took part. The results showed no major difference in distance vision, but the new lens may help with intermediate vision.
